Piano Methods
During my many years of teaching, I have taught students from Alfred, Bastien, Faber & Faber, Piano Pronto, Step by Step, Succeeding at the Piano, SuperSonics, and Thompson. Each of these methods has merits, and I happily teach transfer students from the method they are comfortable with, and supplement additional fun pieces to keep my students motivated.
If given the choice, I suggest my students use Piano Pronto and/or SuperSonics!
Piano Pronto
Why I love Piano Pronto: fun music, motivating teacher duets and solid note reading development. Check out the quote below from the Piano Pronto website:

Why I love SuperSonics: systematic development of note reading with highly motivating backing tracks and/or teacher duets. Each piece in the method book has an online theory assignment, backing track and teacher duet. This method is particularly motivating for young, reluctant male students.
